U20 WWCQualifiers : Zambia out, South Africa proceed

The U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier road for Zambia ended in what was an emotional moment for the team as they drew 2 all in the second leg of the preliminary round to host South Africa, at the the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on February 1st,2020.

Having lost 2-0 in the first leg that was played in Zambia two weeks ago, South Africa qualified to the next stage of the tournament on a 4-2 aggregate advantage.

Siomala Mapepa gave Zambia an early lead in less than five minutes of play but Chelsea Daniels of South Africa equalized by the 18th minute. However, in the second half, Ochumba Oseke brought joy back to the visitors as they took the lead again in the 77th minute, but 3 minutes later, the celebration was cut short as Zethembiso Vilakazi scored what was the last goal of the match and solidified Basetsana’s victory, as they head on to meet Botswana in the first leg of the first round match for the qualifiers.
